Brad Pitt as 'Don Collier' a.k.a 'Wardaddy' from 'Fury'
Watched 'Fury' twice because its such an awesome
movie. Wanted to sculpt Brad Pitt's character- 'Don Collier' a.k.a
'Wardaddy'
Had started the first time, after I finished watching the movie the first time. Struggled with sculpting as its been quite long since the last time I sculpted. After an hour of working, Zbrush crashed. Had gotten quite a good result even after the hiccups at the start, but the polycount had hit the roof and I felt I could have come up with better results in the current polycount. So did not think of using the file backup and started again from scratch after watching the movie the second time the next day.
This sculpt took around 4-5 hrs which includes an hour of sculpting just the hair itself.
Did the best I could with the ear based on the available polygons and still needs to be worked on, after retopo mostly.
After taking feedback and corrections and adding more details
Corrections done after getting some feedback from peeps... scars and wrinkles added...And I shall call it finished for now..
Brad Pitt minus the hair and battle scars..
Getting back to Zbrush after more than a year. Lost touch with sculpting totally because of the same reason. Atleast the workflows and hotkeys were something I still remembered. So after one failed attempt, was able to come up with this.
Time taken- 3 hrs
Software - Zbrush 4R6
Brushes Used- Move, Clay buildup, Trim Adaptive, Pinch , Smooth, Inflat
Used ZRemesher couple of times to reconstruct the topology.
For the base mesh, I started out with a polysphere.
For the zygomatic arch, I used a ZSphere chain to make the structure, followed by making an adaptive skin of the same.
For attaching the zygomatic arch to the base skull, I used remeshing followed by projection to get back the details lost during remeshing.
Still need to make the mandible and the teeth. Planning to follow that up with polypainting later on to give a bit of color and details and break the monotony in the look.
robert
downey jr bust..still a work in progress..still working on the hair and
further detailing on the face..thought of trying out the messy hair
look as in sherlock holmes...base mesh made in maya..further detailing
in zbrush as always..more to come..probably a textured one soon when im
happy with the sculpting..and also a better render probably
Got some feedback from people.Studied the references in more detail and this is what I was able to achieve.Sculpted the hair again too.Happy with the way its turned out.
Had an idea for a character sculpt since quite sometime. So did some quick head studies to decide upon the possible designs.Instead of trying out sketching the designs, thought of doing the pre-visualization directly in 3d after doing some very rough sketches. All these were really quick sculpts so havn't gotten into detailing them much..
Was confused whether to keep the anatomy realistic or more on the caricatured side..so tried both..
A human male sculpt I worked on for my portfolio. The base mesh was made in Maya, and further detailing done in Zbrush.I have also extracted the normal map already and finished with getting a low poly version of the model back to Maya.Still need to work on the texturing for this.
